Dr. Josh Raiffe
Dr. Raiffe has been working in the dental field since he was 13 years old, helping out at his dad’s practice. Over the years, he fell in love with caring for smiles of all shapes and sizes, and he still looks forward to coming to work every single day! He believes that true oral health goes beyond just a beautiful set of teeth – it’s also about fostering overall wellbeing and harmony within the body.
Where Did the Idea for Josh and Gigi’s Toothbrush Adventure Come From?
The inspiration behind Josh and Gigi’s Toothbrush Adventure came directly from Dr. Raiffe’s daily interactions with children at his practice. He saw a clear need for a resource that could turn the often-dreaded task of brushing teeth into an exciting adventure. Combining his professional expertise with his love for storytelling, he authored the book with the goal of engaging and educating young minds. The fun prose and vibrant illustrations help make dental hygiene easy to understand and fun too!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
A native of Cleveland, Dr. Raiffe attended Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University for his undergraduate studies. After that, he graduated from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – Arizona. For one year following dental school, he trained with the Dick Barnes Group, and within two years, he became an accredited member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology – the youngest person in the history of the organization to achieve such an honor and one of only a few in the Phoenix Valley with this unique qualification! As part of his continuing education coursework, Dr. Raiffe has studied with SPEAR Education, one of the nation’s top training organizations.
Outside of Dentistry, What Do You Like to Do?
When Dr. Raiffe isn’t helping and treating patients, he is very active. He enjoys playing pickleball, lifting weights, and cycling. Also, his love of learning doesn’t just apply to dentistry—he loves to learn all sorts of new things, which inspires his passion for reading and travel! In addition, he remains close with his father, mother (who owns a candy store), and his two grown sisters.
